The most commonly recognized standards are EN50173, ISO/IEC 11801, TIA/EIA 568A, TIA/EIA 568B.2 and TIA/EIA 568B.2-1. The fundamental of such standards is to move away from application specific cables to a generic standard for open network systems. This provides the user with both increased flexibility and cost-effective solutions to networking requirements.
